Week 2: The Year 1 students focused on the school grounds and neighbourhood and sorted things in columns eg, in the sky, that grows, that is made by a person, and is far away. Check out some examples:
Students identified natural and constructed features in the above activity. In pairs, they then went on a scavenger hunt and looked for 12 different things from the school grounds ( natural and built) to place in their egg carton. They then shared their findings and sorted them in a table, natural versus built. Check out some examples:

Week 5-7: The year 1 students designed and created posters about seasons for display at the Year 1 Science Open Night (Thursday 26th November - see under events "November" for more information). Check out the posters:
Week 8-9: The students reflected on their term's learning and played a science version of 'Headbandz'. They then watched "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs."
