Week 2: The Reception students were given an assortment of things. In a small group, students had to discuss and sort objects, such as by colour, size, materials (glass, metal, plastic etc) or texture (hard or soft). Each group then shared their way of sorting to the rest of the class.

Week 6: Students investigated strong and weak materials used for houses in "The Three Little Pigs" story.Each student chose a pig's house and recreated a 2D version using either shredded paper for straw, pop sticks or brown paper strips for sticks, or red, rectangular shaped paper for bricks. Week 7: The Reception students investigated what a range of houses are made of eg, igloo - snow, huts - straw, timber and brick houses. They each drew their own house and circled what it is made of. Check out some examples:

Week 8: The Reception students investigated safety clothing eg, helmet, gloves, jacket, boots for motor cycling; goggles for swimming;wet suit, flippers, mask, oxygen tank for scuba diving. Check out what safety clothing they drew for bike riding:
Week 9: Students investigated traditional dress from many other countries. They sorted and matched the clothing to the country. Check out some examples:
